Wines made from grapes grown in Southern Arizona, from the Sonoita AVA, Wilcox Playa and Bowie. We still produce our wines in the traditional fashion, hand harvesting, sorting and foot stomping the reds. The wines are aged in French Oak, Hungarian Oak, Italian Chestnut and Stainless Steel. The winery has moved to the Stelvin ROPP cap and all of our wine bottlings from 2007 onward shall be in screw cap.

At Rancho Rossa Vineyards, we prefer the ?hands off” approach, using old school techniques and allowing our grapes to make the wine with as little intervention from the wine maker as possible. We opened the tasting room in 2006 with just four wines. Our very first effort, the 2004 Syrah, won the AWGA award for best red wine in the state. We have followed with several other award-winning wines and have developed a small cult following for our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, which is made only in very small quantities.

Dos Cabezas WineWorks is a family-owned and operated winery that challenges the perception that Arizona does not produce exceptional wines. Dos Cabezas WineWorks has been producing wines in Arizona since 1995. The winery was originally located on the 80 acre Dos Cabezas Vineyard near Willcox, AZ. Just after the harvest of 2006, winemaker Todd Bostock purchased the winery with the help of his wife Kelly and his parents Frank and Paula. The winery was moved to Sonoita, Arizona, close to the vineyard the family planted in Elgin in 2003.
We currently have five acres designated for vineyards on our property. We originally planted many varietals that did not fit the micro climate that exists on our plot of land. Although it has a nice southerly facing slope, we thought the cold air drainage would be adequate with the falling eastern terrain. After several years of data points, we identified the need to change some of our varietals to cope with the late spring frosts and early fall frosts. Lightning Ridge Cellars, a small family winery established in 2005, represents years of personal endeavor from the ground up. We’re proud to offer wines based on our Italian heritage. Our estate wines are made from classic Italian varietals: Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Montepulciano, Primitivo, Malvasia and Muscat Canelli. Clay soils, long warm summers, cool nights and an old world style of winemaking provide the perfect combination to produce rich, full-bodied wines.
Come out to the vineyard and sample our exceptional, hand-crafted wines. Slow down and take in the scenery of this broad valley and its sky islands. Go for a stroll in the vineyard. Bring along a tasty picnic to enjoy with a bottle of Zarpara wine on the outdoor terrace.
